According to a report from Washington, D.C.-based Axios, freshman U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) is "exploring" a bid to lead the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), the Senate GOP campaign arm.

Britt is among two other freshmen, U.S. Sens. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) and Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.).

"Britt has been more visibly boosting Republican campaigns lately," Axios' Justin Green wrote. "She held a big dollar fundraiser for NRSC late last month, hosted Trump and NRSC Chair Steve Daines (R-Mont.) at the Alabama-Georgia game and spun for JD Vance at the VP debate."

Another source "close to Britt" told Axios that Britt "isn't currently running for NRSC chair," but was open to serving the GOP caucus in some capacity.
