Congressman Barry Moore (R-AL02) and 56 of his House Republican colleagues signed on to a letter sent to President Joseph R. Biden (D) urging him to resend his recent Executive Order aimed at “protecting access” to abortion after the U.S. Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization decision made it clear that states should be the ones to regulate or ban abortions in their jurisdictions.
The letter sent to the President was led by Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Georgia). It described President Biden’s Executive Order as “a direct affront to this nation’s democratic process and a blatant disrespect for the sanctity of the Supreme Court.”
“The recent Executive Order from the Biden Administration defending the right to terminate the lives of unborn children up until the moment of birth is further proof of how extreme and beyond the mainstream Biden and Washington Democrats have moved on abortion," said Moore. "I am proud to fight alongside Rep. Clyde and so many of my other colleagues to protect innocent life and block this attempt by the Biden administration to strip away the Constitutional right of citizens in each state to enact their own abortion laws”.
In the letter, the pro-Life Republicans write, "It is high time that we return to Constitutional order in this nation. The Supreme Court has returned long-overdue power to American voters, and we demand that you respect the Constitution's balance of power between the three branches of our great government. Therefore, you must respect the Supreme Court's decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization to give decision-making power back to American Voters".

“Following the Supreme Court’s rightful Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade, Democrats have doubled down on their reprehensible abortion agenda, waging war against the precious unborn,” Rep. Clyde said. “These disturbing pieces of legislation establish abortion on demand, prohibit pro-life states like Georgia from enacting life-saving legislation, and undermine the health and safety of pregnant women. It is imperative that we protect the most innocent among us, the precious unborn, which is why I will continue to stand firm against Democrats’ radical agenda and fight for the sanctity of human life.”
The Biden administration claims that the order is necessary to protect the right to access of reproductive health services.
The Biden administration wrote, “Reproductive health care, including access to birth control and safe and legal abortion care, is an essential part of your health and well-being. While Roe v. Wade was overturned, abortion remains legal in many states, and other reproductive health care services remain protected by law. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is committed to providing you with accurate and up-to-date information about access to and coverage of reproductive health care and resources. Our goal is to make sure you have appropriate information and support.”
