WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Former United States Ambassador to Slovenia Lynda "Lindy" Blanchard, was in West Palm Beach on election night with President-elect Donald Trump.
Victory rang in the Palm Beach Convention Center, where thousands gathered to support the former and future president.
"U.S.A! U.S.A! U.S.A!" the crowd chanted as state results proved that Trump would gain enough electoral votes to "Make America Great Again."
"There was a lot of optimism," Blanchard told 1819 News. "People were calm and more than hopeful. It was a feeling of, 'We've got this."
While Trump supporters were hopeful, Blanchard said the historic moment exceeded expectations. She believes the rhetoric perpetuated by the left-wing media will soon end, and the truth will prevail.
"Media lost last night," she said. "They lost. I believe the future of media will come from places like 1819 News, and we will start to get information on our own. I really do."
In the end, hate was the biggest loser, Blanchard added.
"In this campaign, you can see that people chose hope over hate," Blanchard said. "Their campaign became a campaign of hate and in this time when you can't buy groceries and you're worried about next month's rent and the price of gas and getting to work, hope is what you need."
Blanchard added that the campaign, one of the best-managed campaigns in recent history, brought diversity to the table instead of dividing the nation.
"It was just love and opportunity and excitement for the future, for our families and how this president can really help in every arena," said Blanchard.
Moving forward, Blanchard is standing by and ready to do whatever she can for God and the country. She already has meetings set up on Wednesday.
"I'm open for anything in any way God and this country can use me or our family for," she told 1819 News. "We just want the best for everyone, and I'm going to walk through any door that God opens up and I'm just in a mode of thankfulness."
