A drag queen storytime event in Mobile has been canceled for a second time.
Books-A-Million’s corporate office confirmed to 1819 News that a reading of “Finding My Rainbow” by Josh Coleman will no longer take place on Friday.
The event was initially scheduled to be held at Oyster City Mobile, featuring TikTok personality Ophelia “Mama Tot” Nichols. Nichols opted out of the event without explanation, but Coleman said the decision was due to threats.

“Due to the severe personal threats to Mama Tot and her family, she will not be able to join us on Friday,” Coleman posted. “We understand and support her decision to prioritize her safety and well-being.”
The same day, Oyster City Mobile announced it would cancel the event for the same reason.
“Multiple hateful and threatening comments on social media are being taken seriously by management in the interests of our staff and customers’ safety,” Oyster City posted on Facebook. “Oyster City does not abide hate. We make beer for those who enjoy it, over the age of 21, regardless of gender, race, or orientation.”
After Coleman announced the event would be moved to Books-A-Million and asked supporters to attend, the bookstore’s corporate office canceled the event.
