U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) will not be in the running for chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) in 2026, according to a report by The Hill.
A source "familiar with her decision" told The Hill that Britt was not interested in the post at this time.
"Although several colleagues approached Senator Britt asking her to consider running for NRSC chair, she isn't interested in running for NRSC chair next cycle," the source said.
Axios reported last week that Britt was "exploring" a bid to lead the NRSC, the campaign arm of the Senate GOP.
Another potential candidate, U.S. Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.), has also ruled out running for the chair currently held by U.S. Sen. Steve Daines (R-Mont.), The Hill reported.
