As more Democrats join in calling for the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein, U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) is questioning their motives.

During a recent interview with "ABC News Live Prime," Britt, who has been advocating for more transparency on Epstein, stated that Democrats had lost credibility on the issue after ignoring it for the past four years.

“I find it interesting that Democrats care about this at all because last time I checked, they were in charge for the last four years, and I can't seem to find any of them that were speaking up or compelling their own DOJ or their president of their own party to do this very same thing," Britt said. "So, they don't have a lot of standing in my mind with regards to this.”

She continued, “However, I do know many Republicans who have been talking about this and looking for transparency for the American people. I'm going to work with those people to continue to try to provide that and believe the administration is as well.”

Britt said she was confident the files would be released to Congress and that the public would get "the answers that they want."
