It is no secret that in Republican supermajority states, people from more liberal persuasions must pretend to be conservative so they can keep their grubby paws on the levers of power. Alabama is no exception. As a matter of fact, we might be the absolute embodiment of the rule.

Due to this looming threat, it is imperative that conservatives in red states remain steadfast and vigilant, keeping the wolves in sheep’s clothing – who seek to steer our very conservative state in a more liberal, progressive direction – away from centers of power.

There are some glaring examples of this in our recent past. Mac McCutcheon, now the chairman of the Madison County Commission, was the Speaker of the House beginning in 2016 and oversaw the arm-twisting campaign to get the gas tax increase passed. He also pushed for legalization of marijuana and then gambling in 2021. He hired Democrat political consultant Steve Raby, who has operated as the de facto chief-of-staff of the Speaker’s office from 2016 until today under current Speaker Nathaniel Ledbetter.

One could argue that Raby, a Democrat, is the most powerful person in the state. How is it that we have a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat wielding this much power in the most conservative state in the nation with a Republican supermajority?

Because liberals know that in order to seize power in a red state, they just have to pretend to be conservative. These are indeed wolves in sheep’s clothing, echoing the cliches and talking points they need to secure the vote of the Trump-voting, Southern conservative, and then they go on to govern or legislate in a way that reflects who they really are.

Perhaps the most egregious case of this is how conservatives have allowed the Alabama Education Association (AEA) to have a stranglehold on the Republican party. That’s like finding out that Planned Parenthood became a significant GOP-supporting organization. It’s oil and water.

The AEA is the state-level affiliate of the godless, Christ-hating, Marxist organization that is the National Education Association, whose apparent goal it is to pervert and indoctrinate children with queer ideology and convince white children that they are oppressors because of their skin color.

The AEA used to run the state under Paul Hubbert and Joe Reed. They were the biggest power broker in Alabama, and it wasn’t even close.

But then Gov. Bob Riley neutralized the AEA’s reign by making it so that dues couldn’t be automatically withdrawn from teacher paychecks. The future of the AEA post-Riley was bleak.

Then the AEA did a rebrand in 2014, presenting themselves as a conservative organization, saying that since most teachers in the state are Republican, it would only make sense that they would be a conservative organization. They got a young conservative female to go around meeting with Republican legislators, handing out checks, giving them the talking points of why it was ok to take AEA money now, despite the ALGOP bylaw that said they shouldn’t. “This is the new gun-toting, Jesus-loving, Constitution-promoting AEA! We promise, you can trust us!”

1819 News exposed these campaign contributions in the last election cycle and was immediately hit with all the talking points about how AEA had changed and were no longer the communists they used to be. They promised.

It was almost believable … almost. But we knew better.

Well, the Mobile mayoral race caused their conservative Christian mask to drop. The AEA pitched in $100,000 to Democrat Barbara Drummond, whose voting record would make the communists at the NEA proud. This woman has voted against a bill prohibiting gender identity or sexuality discussion in schools and against a bill defining gender based on biological sex. She voted no on Alabama House Bill 7, the Laken Riley Act, which allows local law enforcement to partner with the federal government to enforce federal immigration laws. I could go on and on about her radical voting record on issues relating to public safety and woke nonsense.

If this woman wins the election, Mobile will be Baltimore in a matter of months, and the AEA will have footed the bill for it.

What do all the Republican legislators who take gobs of money from this organization think about this development?

I don’t blame the AEA. Commie Marxists are going to do what commie Marxists do, but conservatives never should have taken the bait. AEA money should make a Republican candidate unelectable after this.

Prove me wrong.
