Cathi Bradford has picked up an endorsement from The 1776 Project PAC in her campaign for the Alabama Board of Education, District 6.
The PAC was formed in 2020 to combat the “progressive-led efforts to lockdown schools during the COVID epidemic” and reignite “the spark and spirit of that revolution by reforming school boards across America.”
The PAC is also part of President Donald Trump’s effort to push back against the misinformation being taught by the 1619 Project, which reframes U.S. history as starting in 1619 when slaves were first brought to Virginia.
"We support reform-minded conservatives who oppose political indoctrination and believe in parental rights, safe and secure schools, fiscal transparency, improving educational standards, promoting transparency, and reversing pandemic-related learning loss," the PAC's website states.
Bradford told 1819 News she was “super excited” about the endorsement.
“When The 1619 Project hit K-12 schools in our country, President Trump set up a task force to work on implementing the teaching of REAL American History in our schools. In 2019, when I learned about Trump’s 1776 Commission, I was so excited that we would be returning to teaching our students the great foundations of our nation and working toward reuniting our differences with that one common thread that runs through every American: patriotism. This is why this endorsement is so special to me,” she said.

Bradford, a U.S. Air Force veteran and experienced educator, is running on a three-pronged platform: “Back to basics, back to parents, back to patriotic ideas.”
“In my run for State School Board, District 6, I’ve been doing a lot of reading and studying,” she said. “On one particular evening, I wanted to reread President Trump’s 1776 Plan and learned that they had created a PAC to help true conservative school board candidates who believe the success of this great nation rests with our children. Well, without sounding cliché, the rest is history. Now, I am endorsed by that same organization whose ideals I admired many years ago, and whose ideas I plan to bring with me to Montgomery as your next elected State school board member.”
Bradford is hoping to unseat incumbent state school board member Marie Manning, who represents District 6. The Republican primary election is on May 19.
