The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office arrested a Birmingham man after receiving a delayed allegation against him.

A 14-year-old came forward with numerous documented sexual encounters between her and David Anderson, 35.

The victim was aged four and five when the alleged incidents happened in 2015 and 2016 in the Baldwin County home where the victim lived with the suspect.

The sheriff's office began investigating the allegations on January 13 and charged Anderson with first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy. Anderson, a convicted sex offender, was apprehended by law enforcement in Jefferson County, where he failed to register.

"The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office and its partners in law enforcement are committed to continuing their efforts to identify and apprehend individuals who engage in illegal activities to ensure the safety and well-being of all children," the sheriff's office stated in a press release.

According to public documents, Anderson was previously convicted of second-degree rape of a 12-year-old and enticing a three-year-old child for immoral purposes in 2019. He was charged with a sex offender registration and notification act violation after failing to register in Jefferson County.

He has since been booked in the Baldwin County Jail.
