Incumbent Centreville Mayor Mike Oakley lost his reelection bid by two votes in last week's municipal election, and now he is challenging the results in court.

After election night, both Oakley and challenger Barry Cooner had 326 votes each. After provisional ballots were counted, Oakley's vote total decreased.

Oakley filed suit in Bibb County Circuit Court after Centreville's city clerk reportedly determined that there would be no recount.
