State Rep. Phillip Ensler (D-Montgomery), the only Jewish member of the Alabama Legislature, criticized U.S. Sens. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) and Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) for "exploiting" the recent terrorist attack on Israel to criticize President Joe Biden.
After Saturday's attack by the Palestinian militant group Hamas, support for Israel from Alabama politicians and lawmakers began flooding social media.
Tuberville and Britt pointed to a deal the Biden administration made in August to unfreeze $6 billion in escrowed oil funds to Iran in exchange for releasing five detained American citizens. The long-standing relationship between Hamas and Iran led both Senators to infer that the United States had indirectly funded the terrorist attacks still ongoing in Israel.
According to the Wall Street Journal, a Hamas spokesperson told the BBC that the militant group had received support from Iran for the attack.
Last month, Joe Biden gave $6 billion to Iran.

Now, Iran is waging war on one of our closest allies and murdering innocent people.
Joe Biden needs to explain to the American people why he is handing over billions of dollars to supporters of terrorists.
Strength deters war, while weakness invites it.

Make no mistake—the people of Israel are paying the devastating price today for President Biden’s $6 billion ransom payment to Iran.
The Biden Administration’s appeasement put blood in the water, and now it has blood on its hands.
Ensler, who won his seat from Republican incumbent Charlotte Meadows in 2022, took to Twitter to blast Britt and Tuberville for using the attack as a reason to criticize Biden.
