The initial court appearance for a woman arrested during a "No Kings" protest in Fairhope has been rescheduled to March.
Jeanna Renea Gamble, 62, of Fairhope, was arrested on October 18 and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Fairhope Police were called to the protest after receiving complaints that a protester dressed in a penis costume was causing traffic hazards.
Body camera footage showed an officer explaining to Gamble that the costume was inappropriate for children who may see her. When Gamble attempted to walk away, the officer took Gamble to the ground and placed her in handcuffs. During the arrest, Gamble told police her name was "Antifa," and accused the officers of violating her freedom of speech.
Mayor Sherry Sullivan told 1819 News that Gamble's behavior was unacceptable and that such a display would not be tolerated in Fairhope.
Gamble's attorney, David Gepass, filed a motion to dismiss the charges, arguing that the arresting officer lacked probable cause for arrest and acted solely on his own prejudices.
Municipal Judge Haymes Snedeker threw out the motion to dismiss, calling it moot.
The first call on the case was first pushed back to January to allow Gepass more time to prepare. The hearing has been rescheduled again due to a Fairhope attorney being out of town in January.
The first call will now take place on March 4, 2026, in Fairhope Municipal Court.
Gamble is considered innocent until proven guilty.
