The Alabama Republican Party may have timed things just right in lining up a big-name speaker for their Winter Dinner.
They landed presidential “first son” Donald J. Trump, Jr.
Within two days of that announcement, rumors began to circulate that the younger Trump is considering running for president in 2028. That possible candidacy is totally unconfirmed but is a hot topic on the D.C. political rumor circuit.
In fact, Trump Jr. has denied those rumors and blasted the reports.
The “Trump Victory Dinner” will be on Thursday, April 3, in Birmingham at the BJCC North Exhibition Hall. It begins with a reception at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m.
“We expect several special guests for our Trump Victory Dinner and are especially honored to welcome President Trump’s oldest son as our keynote speaker,” ALGOP said in a release Thursday.
“As a passionate defender of conservative values, Don Jr. brings a unique perspective on the Trump family, the early days of President Trump’s second administration, and the battles ahead to secure our nation’s future. You won’t want to miss his visit to Alabama!” ALGOP added.
Alabama is one of the Trumpiest states, and the Alabama Republican Party is one of the Trumpiest state parties. Don Jr.’s speech comes after his sister-in-law Lara Trump spoke at the Alabama Republican Party’s 2024 Summer Dinner. His father, then-former President Donald Trump, delivered the keynote address at the organization’s 2023 Summer Dinner. He also spoke at an outdoor rally in Cullman in 2021.

Don Jr. has been a MAGA evangelist during the 2024 campaign, the transition period, and the early weeks of the second Trump administration. He headed the U.S. delegation to Greenland for talks about potential U.S. control of the Danish territory.
He had played a crucial role in convincing his father to choose JD Vance, then a Senator from Ohio, as his vice presidential nominee. Don Jr. has a large presence on the Internet with nearly 15 million followers. He also hosts a popular podcast on Rumble.
The Constitution bars President Trump from seeking a third term. A new president will be elected in November 2028.
Besides Don Jr., other frequently-mentioned possible GOP candidates are Vice President JD Vance and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
