Eagle Forum PAC announced Saturday that it has endorsed Mo Brooks for U.S. Senate.

“Mo Brooks has dedicated his life to serving the people of Alabama,” the conservative group said in a statement. “He has been elected to the Alabama House of Representatives, the Madison County Commission, and he currently represents the people of Alabama’s 5th District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He has distinguished himself in his service on the Armed Services and Science, Space, and Technology Committees.

“Eagle Forum has looked to Brooks for proactive leadership on issues of greatest concern to Alabama families such as education, immigration, life, and fiscal restraint. He can be counted on not only to vote consistently to uphold our Constitutional freedoms but to fight and lead on these issues. He worked tirelessly and bravely to give the American people a voice when serious concerns about the 2020 election were ignored and ridiculed by D.C. elites. He has proven again and again that he will not back down, but he will fight all efforts to weaken our nation and attack our freedoms.”

Eagle Forum President Colleen Holcomb said the key factor for the endorsement was Brooks' Conservative position.

“We desperately need not just a Republican, but a conservative majority in the U.S. Senate in 2022,” Holcomb said. “We need bold leaders like Mo Brooks, who listen to their constituents, do their own homework and work hard to champion legislation that fixes problems instead of creating them.

“We have worked closely with Mo since 2010 when he was first elected to Congress, and he has always kept his campaign promises. We know he will do the same in the Senate. Mo is not a go-along to get-along in Washington, D.C. politician. He is a principled fighter, and now more than ever, we need leaders like him in the U.S. Senate.”

Brooks said that he is proud to announce that he has received the endorsement of Eagle Forum, one of America’s premier conservative organizations.

“I am thrilled by Eagle Forum’s strong endorsement,” Brooks said. “Their endorsement helps confirm that I am the only proven conservative in this Senate race. I look forward to Eagle Forum’s help carrying America, and us, to victory on May 24.

“For nearly fifty years, Eagle Forum’s network of state organizations have led the charge to mobilize conservatives to defend and promote America’s pro-life and family values, religious freedoms, strong border security, and foundational principles that have combined to make America the greatest nation in world history.”

Incumbent Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Alabama) is retiring after six terms in the Senate.

Brooks faces a daunting field in his bid to win the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate. The other GOP candidates include Jack Schafer, Mike Durant, Karla Dupriest, Katie Boyd Britt, and Lillie Boddie.

The winner of the Republican primary will face the Democratic nominee in the Nov. 8 general election. Victor Keith Williams, Brandaun Dean, Will Boyd, and Lanny Jackson are all running for the Democratic nomination.

The major party primaries will be on May 24.
