During a discussion on this week's "College GameDay Podcast," ESPN's Rece Davis, an Alabama native and University of Alabama grad, predicted retired Crimson Tide head football coach Nick Saban would "thrive" in his new role as analyst on "College GameDay."

Davis pointed to Saban's previous appearances providing "expert analysis" and called the seven-time national championship winner a "gifted public speaker."

"Nick has already shown a remarkable ability to slide into that seat and provide expert analysis. He handles the tapes well. He understands how to speak in headlines because he is a gifted public speaker, and not just to his team. If you've heard him in any other format, it's really quite an impressive thing. So, I don't have any doubt at all that he will thrive in this role, and I'm looking forward to the new dynamic."

"So, I don't have any doubt at all that he will thrive in this role, and I'm looking forward to the new dynamic," he added. "... [Y]ou have to find ways to improve. You have to find areas to grow. You cannot stand still, and certainly, if you bring Nick Saban into any mix - whether it be your Ferrari dealership, your Mercedes dealership or your television program - you best not stand still."

Davis said viewers will learn that the legendary coach actually "has got a really good sense of humor."

"This guy has got a really good sense of humor," Davis emphasized. "Now, it's a dry wit and a low-key wit. It's a chop-busting wit, but I think that is going to play perfectly on the set."

"He's going to be sensational," he added.
