It’s not likely that CNN, USA Today and other mainstream media will cover this story, but Fox News has it up now.

The two-word caption on Fox’s photo of Miss America Abbie Stockard, in all-caps, is: HEAVEN SENT.

The Fox headline reads: Miss America says she’s following the Lord in world that’s ‘broken, polarized and divided.’

It’s a story of using one’s position in life to make a difference in the lives of others – in this case, tens of thousands of others.

"I am very driven by my faith," Stockard told Fox News Digital. "Based on the morals and the values that my family taught me, I believe that every single person is called to make a difference.”

Making a difference. That concept permeates Stockard’s life story.

Making a difference as a student at Vestavia Hills High School.

Making a difference as a nursing student at Auburn University.

Making a difference at the Miss Alabama pageant. By the way, Stockard is quick to point out that the competition is not just a beauty pageant. Community service, talent and articulation are as important as good looks.

Stockard uses a term and concept that may be awkward for secular writers to hear and understand – “anointed.”

“I know I was anointed to this position for a purpose, and that’s why I’m not going to take it for granted.”
