Former Navy SEAL and business owner Jared Hudson announced he is running for U.S. Senate.

Hudson will run for U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s (R-Auburn) seat after Tuberville announced he was running for Alabama governor.

Hudson has an extensive background in military and law enforcement. He owns The Shooting Institute, and he founded Covenant Rescue Group (CRG), a non-profit aimed at combating human trafficking and child exploitation. CRG trains law enforcement officers at no cost and sets up sting operations.

While working in Africa, Hudson received a message from God to return to the United States and make a difference. The run for Senate is another way Hudson said he can do that.

Hudson ran as a Republican for Jefferson County sheriff in 2022 but was narrowly defeated by incumbent Sheriff Mark Pettway, a Democrat.

He said while focusing on his faith in God, he wants to fight to uphold the Constitution and protect the American people. Hudson vowed to stand by President Donald Trump to secure the border, crush the woke agenda and defend Christian values.

The announcement came one day after Tuberville announced he would run for Alabama governor.
