As many Democrats grapple with the possibility that President Joe Biden is unfit for a second presidential term, the Democratic candidate for Alabama’s second congressional district is radio silent.

Figures has not responded to several media requests on the issue and hasn’t expressed his thoughts on social media.

Figures' success in November is tied to Biden's success in the second congressional district, given the tight margins and Alabama's straight-ticket voting option.

However, he focused on Pride Month, following what many of his cohorts called a “disastrous performance” by their candidate.

“Happy Pride Month, District 2!” Figures tweeted on Friday. “Our strength is in our diversity, and our future is brighter when we celebrate every voice and every identity. Together, let’s build a more inclusive and equitable community for all.”

Organizations endorsing Figures, including Defend the Vote and the Reproductive Freedom for All Foundation, criticized Trump’s performance, while Democrats nationwide voiced concerns over Biden’s cognitive abilities.

New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, a Biden supporter, said he cried after the debate and called Biden's performance "a total and unmitigated disaster."

Meanwhile, Figures’ opponent, Caroleene Dobson, told 1819 News that Biden’s performance proved the Democratic Party has been misleading the country.
