U.S. Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) is the latest high-profile lawmaker to endorse U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) for governor of Alabama.
Scott appeared with Tuberville Tuesday night on Fox Business Network's "Kudlow," where he gave his full support for Tuberville's gubernatorial bid, though he said he'd miss him in the Senate.
"Coach Tuberville has been an unbelievable senator, but my understanding, he wants to be the governor of Alabama now. It's going to be a big loss for the country because he won't be up here, but he'll be an outstanding governor of Alabama," Scott said.
He continued, "He'll be a big job creator. Coach Tuberville is a big guy on making sure every kid gets a great education, and he's probably the biggest supporter of law enforcement that I've ever seen in the country. Alabama is going to become this unbelievable state everybody's going to have to compete against… I'm sorry you're leaving, but you'll do a great job."
Host Larry Kudlow said he was an "enormous" admirer of Tuberville and that he didn't want him to leave the Senate.
"Tuberville is in a class by himself, isn't he?" Kudlow said.
