GULF SHORES — Tyrus Live performed in Coastal Alabama over the weekend to mostly positive reviews. The Fox News personality and co-host of “Gutfeld!” gave a two-hour comedy special to a sold-out crowd at the Erie H. Meyer Civic Center.
Over 500 people purchased tickets for the event. Judy Barlow, the president of Eastern Shore Republican Women (ESRW), was among the hundreds in attendance.
“Americanism and Patriotism were evident with the crowd as Tyrus touched on topics our Country is facing now along with a sense of comedic relief,” Barlow told 1819 News. “With Tucker Carson recently appearing in Oxford and now Tyrus in Gulf Shores, we hope to welcome even more prominent speakers to our area.”
Tyrus, whose real name is George Murdoch, is also the current NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion and a New York Times bestselling author. He is also known for being a former bodyguard for Snoop Dogg.
During the comedy show, he talked about his career, his family, racial and social issues and politics. He allowed his young daughter Georgie to join him on stage and tell jokes.
Tyrus thanked Baldwin County Republican Party Vice Chairman Patrick McWilliams for making the event possible. McWilliams then presented Tyrus with a proclamation naming May 19 “Tyrus NWS Worlds Heavyweight Champion Day” in Gulf Shores. The proclamation stated that Tyrus brought a positive image and inspired others to live with perseverance, loyalty, dedication and hard work.
Tyrus Live will continue on the road in July and August, stopping in Nebraska, Arkansas, Kansas, Montana, California, Idaho and Illinois.
His wife, Ingrid Rinck, opened for him and told the crowd she manages all of the “Tyrus Live” shows. The couple is currently filming for “The Real Housewives of New Orleans,” the newest franchise for the Bravo reality series.
