Former teacher Thomas Blake Tucker was arrested in September and charged with engaging in a sex act with a student. According to reports, Tucker is now married to that student and asking the court to lift any restrictions on their contact.
Tucker, 25, once taught at East Limestone High School in Athens. On September 19, he was arrested and placed on administrative leave from the school. He left the Limestone County Detention Center on a $30,000 bond.
A month later, he resigned from his teaching position.
Tucker obtained a marriage license and married the student earlier this month, and his lawyers are now requesting that the bond restriction, which limits contact between him and his new wife be lifted.
A hearing has been scheduled to consider the request on December 6.
