On Monday, former Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts announced that he was writing a children's book.

Titled "Better Than a Touchdown," the Super Bowl-winning Philadelphia Eagles signal-caller's new book is "about friendship, the power of teamwork, and achieving goals together."

According to PEOPLE, the book is about a young boy named Jalen.

The book's description reads, "Jalen is so excited for the new school year because this is the year he’ll finally get to try out for the football team! But when he arrives at school, he learns the unthinkable—that the football team has been cut. He and his friends are devastated. But Jalen isn’t ready to give up, and with some advice from some friends, maybe—just maybe—they can save the day."

Hurts, 26, won his first Super Bowl in February when he led the Eagles to a 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans. He was named Super Bowl MVP.

“Some of the most valuable lessons I’ve brought into my adult life were passed down to me during childhood, like the importance of doing something bigger than yourself,” Hurts told PEOPLE. “I’m excited to share some of that wisdom with a new generation of kids in Better Than a Touchdown.”

He added, “I hope this book strikes a chord of resilience, encourages self-belief and resonates with not only kids, but also teachers, mentors and parents!”

Release date is set for March 10, 2026.
