Lindsay Shiver, a Dothan beauty queen, told the New York Post on Friday morning life has been difficult since getting arrested in the Bahamas recently for her alleged involvement in a murder-for-hire plot of her husband, Robert Shiver, a former Auburn football player.
Lindsay posted a $100,000 bail and was released from a Nassau prison after 19 days of incarceration this week. She's required to stay in the Bahamas and check in with law enforcement regularly.
"It's been really tough," Shiver told the outlet and nodded affirmatively when asked if she feels the case against her has been overblown.
Shiver, 36, is accused of plotting to kill her husband, former Auburn University football deep snapper Robert Shiver, with the help of her barman boyfriend, Adrien Bethel, 28, and alleged assassin Faron Newbold, Jr., 29.
Robert filed for divorce from Lindsay in April in Thomasville, Ga. according to the Daily Mail.
"I really can't say too much right now," Lindsay told the New York Post on Friday. "It's been hard. But I can't speak about it. Now I'm having issues with my car. I have to deal with that now on top of everything else. But I really can't say anything more. I'm sorry. Thank you for being respectful."
Lindsay was crowned Miss Houston County in 2005 and finished second runner-up in that year's National Peanut Pageant. She attended Houston Academy and met Robert when they attended college at Auburn, according to WTVY.
