A former Franklin County teacher pleaded guilty and admitted he sent an explicit video to a 17-year-old.
Timothy Wells, 38, pleaded guilty to distributing harmful material to a minor.
Wells, who was a special education teacher at Phil Campbell High School, was interviewed by detectives and turned himself in to the Franklin County Detention Center in 2023. According to a complaint, investigators determined Wells made the video of himself masturbating.
As part of a plea agreement, Wells will surrender his teaching license and is prohibited from contacting the victim. He was sentenced to one year, suspended.
