A former pastor in Huntsville has pleaded not guilty after allegedly stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from the now-defunct All Nations Worship Assembly.

According to court documents, Adrian Davis, who served as lead pastor and marketing consultant for ANWA, spent the money on personal expenses, including an Audi A7, a GMC Yukon and several Louis Vuitton products.

Davis served as lead pastor and marketing consultant for ANWA, where he received a salary and parsonage as compensation for his work. Davis has admitted to defrauding the church out of funds from 2018 to 2022 by "means of materially false pretenses, representations and promises." He also filed a tax return in 2021, falsely claiming he received $138,621, even though his total income exceeded that amount.

After being taken into custody, he was charged with one count of wire fraud and one count of filing a false tax return.

Previously, Davis had agreed to a plea deal that would have required him to admit his guilt on both charges. As part of the agreement, he would have been responsible for paying restitution of over $434,000 to the church and nearly $115,000 to the Internal Revenue Service.

Davis faces more than 23 years in prison and up to four years of supervised release.

He will soon appear for a hearing to change his plea.
