Lieutenant governor candidate John Wahl has picked up another endorsement for the upcoming runoff election from Pat Bishop, who ran against him in the primary.
Bishop, who received 3.25% of the vote, said Wahl reflects the same values he strived for in his campaign and believes that Wahl is the best candidate to lead Alabama.
"John is not afraid to say what he means, and he means what he says. He exhibits the foundations and principles of leadership," Bishop said. "Alabama deserves a Lieutenant Governor who answers to her people, not to the establishment, and not to anyone who believes accountability is negotiable."
He continued, "John will work to fix issues with our education system, make resources more accessible for our military veterans, business growth, the hypocrisy Alabama Department of Corrections, Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Parole, Alabama Department of Human Resources, protect religious liberty, eliminate waste, recognize and support the fundamental right and essential duty of parents to direct their child's health and educational well-being."
Wahl said he was honored to have Bishop's support.
"Pat has dedicated his life to serving others through the military, law enforcement, his community, and his campaign for Lieutenant Governor. His campaign was built on faith, family, and common sense, and I am honored to have him standing with us as we continue fighting for Alabama's conservative values," Wahl said. "This runoff is about the future of our state. Alabamians deserve a Lieutenant Governor who will stand strong, never back down, and always fight for the people — not the special interests. I am ready to take that fight to Montgomery."
Wahl will go head-to-head against Secretary of State Wes Allen in the GOP primary runoff on June 19.
