A former girls' basketball coach and athletic director in Randolph County was arrested following a grand jury indictment.
Scottie Patillo, 42, of Roanoke, worked at Woodland High School. He is charged with sexual contact by a school employee and second-degree sexual abuse, according to an indictment.
Patillo subjected a child less than 16 years old but older than 12 to sexual contact, the indictment reveals.
The Randolph Leader reported Patillo resigned from the school in July, although he had been absent from the school since postseason games began this past February.
Patillo was arrested Friday and booked into the Randolph County Jail on a $30,000 bond, which he posted the same day. He is considered innocent until proven guilty.
