The Fort Morgan Civic Association (FMCA) donated funds for two separate water quality studies at Pines Boat Launch and Oyster Bay.
The FMCA is partnering with the Mobile Baykeeper to test the health of the waterways, ensuring swimmers' safety and protecting marine life. The association donated $4,000 to the cause.
“The health of our waterways is essential to the well-being of our community,” said FMCA Vice President Clark Strong. “By partnering with Mobile Baykeepers, we are taking proactive steps to monitor and protect these vital resources for current and future generations.”
The testing checks for dangerous Enterococcus and E. coli levels and results can be viewed online.
So far in August, all testing has passed and cleared by EPA standards as safe for swimming and fishing.
