The City of Mountain Brook voted to reject Democrat David Silverstein, re-electing Gerald Garner for another term in Place 2. 

In the final days of the election, Silverstein sought to distance himself from his progressive record and show conservative support, while Garner embraced his conservative values and consistent record on the council.

According to the unofficial results posted on the city's website, Gerald Garner won 3,205 to 2,789.

Voter turnout was just over 32% citywide.
