Maretta Ashford appointed to and sworn in for Mountain Brook City Council

The Mountain Brook City Council voted Monday to appoint Maretta Ashford to Place 1, the seat vacated by Mayor Graham Smith. Ashford was sworn in on Wednesday morning and will serve the remainder of Smith's term, ending in November 2027.

Garner tops Silverstein in hotly contested Mountain Brook Council contest

The City of Mountain Brook voted to reject Democrat David Silverstein, re-electing Gerald Garner for another term in Place 2. Joe Sander was also elected to Place 4, defeating Becky Holt.
