Guardian Credit Union is planning to expand into Prattville.

Prattville Mayor Bill Gillespie said at a city council meeting this week that the new headquarters off of Old Farm Lane was under construction.

Gillespie said at the meeting that the headquarters would be 5,7000 square feet and cost roughly $24 million.

“It goes to show that even during these challenging times we still have some entities who want to invest in Prattville,” Gillespie said. “We have a lot of positive progress in Prattville, and there is so much more to come.”

Rachael Stewart, vice president of marketing at Guardian Credit Union, said at a Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce meeting last week that the new headquarters would employ “more than 100 Guardian team members.”

“You may have noticed the new development from I65, if you’re driving north and you look to your left,” Stewart said. “Right before you get to PCA, you will see this new development. I am excited to announce that that is the future headquarters of Guardian Credit Union. At that site, we will have more than 100 Guardian team members. This building site will help us grow together as a team, for each other, for our members, and community. With that, we give a big thanks to the City and County for making this building possible.”
