The beautiful beaches of Sweet Home Alabama are in the national spotlight as nominees for multiple USA Today's 10 Best Readers' Choice Awards.
A panel of editors and journalists nominated the beach towns in eight categories: Best Small Town Arts Scene, Best Arts Festival, Best Specialty Food Festival, Best Golf Destination, Best Coastal Small Town, Best Small Town Food Scene, Best Small Town in the South, and Best Recreational Trail.
Voting is open for three categories and may be submitted at the following links:
- Best Small Town Arts Scene – Orange Beach (voting ends Monday, Feb. 16 at 10:59 a.m.)
- Best Arts Festival – Orange Beach Festival of Art (voting ends Monday, March 2 at 10:59 a.m.)
- Best Specialty Food Festival – National Shrimp Festival (voting ends Monday, March 3 at 10:59 a.m.)
Voting for the remaining categories will go live at a later date. Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are in the category for Best Golf Destination and Best Recreational Trail. Gulf Shores is nominated for Best Coastal Small Town and Orange Beach is nominated for Best Small Town Food Scene, Best Small Town in the South.
