A Huntsville in-vitro fertilization (IVF) clinic is closing in 2025 due to a “personal decision” unrelated to the Alabama Supreme Court decision in February.
The owner of Huntsville Reproductive Medicine, Andrew Harper, announced on Monday that the company would close at the beginning of 2025.
The company clarified on Tuesday the decision was unrelated to an Alabama Supreme Court decision on IVF released in February that garnered national attention.
“To all of our valued patients: We want to clarify that our decision to close the practice was not related to the recent Alabama Supreme Court ruling. This was solely a personal decision. We have been honored to serve this community for 20 years. Our patients’ embryos are safe, and we are working on being able to give them many options to protect their family building goals moving forward,” the company said in a statement on Tuesday.
