Alabama Republican Party (ALGOP) chairman State Rep. Scott Stadthagen (R-Hartselle) boasted of the recent success of the party's first-ever meeting of its financial oversight committee, which monitors ALGOP’s finances.
The ALGOP Financial Oversight Committee (FOC) met this week at party headquarters in Hoover for the first time.
"The committee we have in place to oversee our finances is one built on strength," Stadthagen said. "I have the utmost faith in these members and the work they will do on behalf of our Party. Chairman Butler is a man of integrity who will ask the tough questions, stand on principle, and make sure this committee fulfills its responsibilities. Moving forward, the Financial Oversight Committee will be utilized as it was intended to be, and from here on out, we will conduct business openly and responsibly."
During the meeting, members reviewed the FOC’s responsibilities and discussed financial information for review, including profit and loss statements, financial transactions, bank records, invoices, receipts and other supporting documentation.
“I was encouraged by Sunday’s meeting and the commitment of the committee members," said ALGOP Financial Oversight Committee chairman State Rep. Mack Butler (R-Rainbow City). "We have a good group in place, and I look forward to working together as we carry out the responsibilities entrusted to us.”
