The two people charged in the shooting of a Mobile Police officer are being held on bonds of $3.1 million cash.

Justin Senia and Arielle Perreault are charged with attempted murder and discharging a gun in a building or vehicle.

Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood said the pair planned to commit suicide by cop.

“During the hearing, Perreault pleaded with the judge, saying, ‘I need to stay in jail, I don’t want to make bail,” WKRG reported.

Police responded to the home in the 100 block of Tuscaloosa Street on Sunday morning. An officer was shot during the standoff, and two other officers were injured in a crash on the way to the scene.

The officer shot was taken to the hospital, where he underwent surgery and was listed in stable but critical condition.

The officers in the crash were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
