A man arrested in connection to a January 16 rape in Orange Beach is being held in the Baldwin County Jail on an immigration hold.
Christopher Russihi Strachan, 31, was charged with first-degree rape and was arrested on January 26.
Orange Beach Police told 1819 News they are unable to detail circumstances surrounding the rape, but the victim was an adult female. The assault happened in the 2400 block of Gulf Bay Road in Orange Beach.
Strachan, who is from Jamaica, lived in a Gulf Shores apartment at the time of his arrest. He was placed in jail with no bond. Strachan is considered innocent until proven guilty.
