During an appearance on FBN's "Mornings with Maria," U.S. Rep. Jerry Carl (R-Mobile) voiced his displeasure with President Joe Biden's decision to take a vacation at Lake Tahoe while the Hawaiian island of Maui is in dire straits following a devastating wildfire.
Carl hammered Biden for the slow response and his actions, as many remain unaccounted for.
"Congressman, remember the infamous now comment from President Biden, when asked about Maui, was no comment," FBN's Cheryl Casone said. "Is this cleanup on aisle five – this trip?"
"This president continues to amaze me," Carl replied. "How can you go on vacation when such a horrible event has taken place? And we really don't know how horrible it is at this point. All those kids that were sent home that are still unaccounted for, and we may never know due to the heat of that fire. So, it just amazes me how this president just kind of flippantly — he'll find a way of turning this into an environmental disaster. Trust me, it'll all be environmentally related."
"If I was president, I'd be over there getting the guy that took 48 hours to get permission to pump water out of a creek to put a fire out. That's the guy I would be going to see," he added. "And I would have been there day one, not a week later."
