On Thursday, U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) spoke out against a 1,547-page spending deal released just days ahead of a funding deadline.
In comments given to 1819 News, Britt said she was siding with President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance, who both publicly decried the bill.
“I agree with President Trump and Senator Vance. I’ve said it constantly, and I’ll say it again — we can’t govern by CRs and omnibuses. It only hurts the American people. We must restore regular order to end the chaos. Congress should urgently consider a clean, stand-alone bill supporting our tremendous family farmers,” Britt told 1819 News on Wednesday.
Britt joins her Alabama colleague U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn), who told Fox Business on Wednesday that he opposed the bill.
