Although the fallout has subsided, U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) is still taking some shots from not only the national media but also the media at home in Alabama for her impassioned State of the Union response last week.

During an appearance on her colleague U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-Texas) podcast "Verdict," Britt noted the double standard as it applied to President Joe Biden's State of the Union address and her rebuttal.

The conclusion, according to Alabama's junior U.S. Senator, is that the media were not "interested in the truth."

"They didn't do their homework, too," she said. "You've had to deal with this for quite some time. The liberal media isn't interested in the truth. They're interested in burying the truth about Joe Biden and his border crisis. All they want to do is — they have an agenda. And if they really wanted to know the story, they would have taken time to know the facts. And I think when all the facts come out, people will see the truth."
