Kody Smith was recently arrested in connection with an alleged drug operation at Infusion Wellness Spa in Cullman.

Smith is the ex-husband of spa owner Whitney Cheatham, who was arrested Saturday on 25 charges related to an alleged drug operation at the spa.

On Wednesday, August 20, the Cullman Police Department, with assistance from the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Smith in connection with the ongoing investigation involving the spa.

He is facing 11 criminal charges under Alabama law — six felonies and five misdemeanors — including:

  • Criminal Conspiracy to Commit a Controlled Substance Crime
  • Attempt to Commit a Controlled Substance Crime
  • Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance by Fraud (4 counts)
  • Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, 4th Degree (5 counts)

In May, Smith had been arrested in neighboring Blount County on an apparently unrelated incident involving human trafficking.

Smith and Cheatham had only been married a short time then and have since reportedly divorced.

Whitney Cheatham’s father, Kelvin Cheatham, is wanted by the Cullman PD on warrants concerning the spa operation.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
