On Friday's episode of Huntsville WVNN's "The Dale Jackson Show," Republican candidate for U.S. Senate and former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson once again declined to classify U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) as a veteran ahead of next Tuesday's GOP runoff election.
During the segment, Hudson was repeatedly pressed by show host Dale Jackson about Moore's veteran status, prompting the candidate to accuse Jackson of acting as a "surrogate" for the Moore campaign.
"I mean, you can mock and laugh all you want because you're one of the surrogates," said Hudson. "... It depends on what definition of veteran you're using. You can get upset about me all you want. Again, I don't know. I think he definitely embellished what he did to play on the hearts of voters, using different definitions of veteran to describe himself and to trick voters in his political game."
He added, "I don't have to describe it. The court describes what it is. You've already mentioned that the U.S. code describes what it is. The federal government describes what it is. It's for the people to see, be transparent and understand. Jared Hudson is who he says he is. This is the Moore camp playing the victim on something that they did, and nobody else did. This is me responding to every media outlet that wants to have this discussion, when in reality it doesn't matter that much to me."
Hudson took issue with unfavorable news coverage of his campaign's offensive on Moore's faith and status as a veteran.
"Here's the problem with what you're doing in the media: you're making this about something that's not Barry. The one that blew this up with lawsuits with FEC violations against people," he contended.

The candidate was asked about Birmingham's NBC affiliate, WVTM, pulling a political action committee's attack ad accusing Moore of "stolen valor."
"Good. Hey, you know what? Great on them. I don't know anything about what Alabama Conservatives do, because, as you know, I can't coordinate with what they do. I tell you again, I'm not answering your question, because I don't have to," Hudson asserted.
