State Rep. James Lomax (R-Huntsville) defeated former Congressman Mo Brooks in Tuesday's Alabama House District 20 Republican primary.
Lomax, the incumbent and House Majority Whip, secured 60.7% (4,465) of the vote to Brooks' 39.3% (2,894), comfortably cruising to victory in an election that quickly became one of the most financially expensive and heated in the state.
Lomax will now face Democrat James Linderholm in November's general election for HD 20.
