Joseph Tyler Goodson, a man featured in the popular podcast "S-Town," was reportedly shot and killed by police Sunday.

"Police bout to shoot me down in my own yard," Goodson posted on Facebook before his death.

According to investigators, Woodstock Police were called to a home near the 500 block of Georgia Loop shortly after midnight. Goodson, 32, was barricaded inside the home, and a standoff ensued. Multiple agencies responded to the scene, where investigators said Goodson brandished a gun at officers and was shot.

"S-Town," produced by "Serial" and "This American Life," was hosted by Brian Reed. Reed interviewed John B. McLemore, who lived in Woodstock, about deadly corruption in the town. McLemore took his own life shortly after finishing his interviews with Reed.

Goodson was so close with McLemore at the time of his death that he became part of a battle over his estate.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) was called in by Woodstock Police to investigate. Findings will be presented to the Bibb County District Attorney's Office.
