UPDATE: The Shelby County Sheriff's Office arrested Jacques Delawrence Hunter, Jr., 23, of Center Point in connection to the shooting. He is charged with first-degree assault and two counts of reckless endangerment. He Hunter was placed in the Shelby County Jail on bonds totaling $125,000.


The Shelby County Sheriff's Office is investigating a Sunday night shooting at the Chuck E. Cheese on Highway 280 in the Inverness area.

Investigators said a man was injured and taken to the hospital for treatment. There is one person in custody who the sheriff's office believes to be the shooter. That person's name has not been released, but deputies believe the shooter is a relative of the victim.

A heavy police presence was reported in the area as deputies were working to locate the gun used in the shooting.

The sheriff's office said it appears no suspects are still at large.

Chuck E. Cheese, a children's and family entertainment restaurant chain, has not responded to a media inquiry from 1819 News.
