A murder suspect from Mississippi was arrested in Tuscaloosa County on Saturday. Deputies said he led them on a chase prior to his capture.
Arti Brown, 31, a suspect in an Oktibbeha County murder, was traveling west on Interstate-20/59, from Jefferson County, when the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) received a tip.
Around 8 a.m., TCSO deputies located Brown and attempted to pull him over. Brown fled, deputies said, continuing south on the interstate until another deputy disabled Brown's vehicle using a spike strip. Brown came to a halt near exit 62, and deputies took him into custody.
Brown was booked into Tuscaloosa County Jail. The Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office has a warrant on him for first-degree murder.
