On Tuesday, Gov. Kay Ivey set the time frame for the execution of Derrick Dearman, who killed five people, including a pregnant woman, in 2016.

Dearman’s timeframe is from midnight on October 17 and 6 a.m. on October 18. He is set to die from lethal injection after pleading guilty to the gruesome murders.

According to court documents, Dearman, a known drug user, was high on methamphetamine when he got into an argument with his girlfriend. He went to the Citronelle home where she was staying, which was also a home where he had stayed for work.

He used an axe on victims who were sleeping in the house. Dearman also took a .45 pistol from one of the victims and shot him with it. He then took the man’s infant son and fled with his girlfriend.

The victims include Shannon Melissa Randall, Robert Lee Brown, Justin Kaleb Reed, Joseph Adam Turner and Chelsea Marie Reed.
