Mobile City Councilman William Carroll will run for another term, he announced Thursday.

“My work has always been about putting the needs of our residents first listening, responding, and delivering real solutions,” said Carroll. “We’ve made important progress, but there’s more to do, and I’m ready to keep moving District 2 forward.”

Carroll is running on a platform of progress, accessibility and opportunity. He said he would like to continue building on the momentum of the past four years.

Among his accomplishments, Carroll listed major infrastructure upgrades, transformation of city parks, LED lighting enhancements in neighborhoods and environmental leadership, including a hydrologic restoration project at Three Mile Creek.

Looking ahead, Carroll said he wants to focus on expanding affordable housing, enhancing public safety, modernizing infrastructure, investing in youth and boosting economic development.

“This campaign is about continuing the work we’ve started—building safer neighborhoods, stronger families, and a more resilient District 2,” Carroll said. “Together, we can keep creating a community that works for everyone.”

Carroll vowed to listen to his constituents to solve problems and build “a better Mobile for the next generation.”

Former Mobile County Public Schools deputy superintendent Samantha Ingram announced last month that she is challenging Carroll in the August 26 municipal election.
