Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed announced on Friday that his chief of staff, Jerime Reid, had recently resigned.

Reid joined the City in March 2023 as chief operating officer and was later appointed chief of staff in October 2024. During his tenure, he played a key role in advancing several organizational priorities and operational improvements across city departments, according to a news release.

"Jerime brought strong leadership and focus to our team during a time of significant growth and change," Reed said. "We thank him for his service to the people of Montgomery and wish him continued success in the future."

An announcement regarding interim leadership and the transition process will be made in the coming days, according to a news release.
