MONTGOMERY – The Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts had a special-called board meeting on Wednesday morning after their ad featuring President Donald Trump’s popular “Make America Great Again” slogan pasted over a picture of the infamous Bloody Sunday in Selma went viral on Tuesday.
The photo appeared on at least one billboard observed by 1819 News. The ad has the name of the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts pasted at the bottom. 1819 News published a story about the ad on Tuesday afternoon. Shortly thereafter, museum officials called a special-called board meeting for Wednesday morning.
When an 1819 News reporter attempted to attend the meeting at the museum on Wednesday, a museum staffer said media weren’t allowed to attend due to the meeting being about “personnel matters.”
Museum officials still haven’t publicly commented on the ad.
