The Montgomery Police Department (MPD) announced on Monday that it had begun disciplinary proceedings against 32-year-old police officer D'Anthony Green after he was charged with domestic violence - third-degree assault on Saturday.

Green, who was assigned to the Special Operations Division, joined MPD in 2017. MPD did not state if Green was arrested, and the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department did not have a record of an arrest or a mugshot. Additionally, the state's online criminal registry does not have a criminal complaint or warrant listed for Green in relation to the allegations.

MPD announced that Green had already been relieved of duty and placed on administrative leave on an unspecified date due to an unrelated incident.
